Kansas City Chiefs RB Kenneth Walker III's contract "suggests that the Chiefs plan to use him heavily," in the opinion of Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.
Huddle Up: Walker's contract is guaranteed over the next two years, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Chiefs lean on him early and often, especially with Patrick Mahomes coming off a knee injury. If Walker is used as a true lead back, he will be a legitimate RB1 candidate for fantasy owners.

Impending free-agent RB Kenneth Walker III (Seahawks) and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms on a deal, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network on Monday, March 9. Financial terms were not immediately disclosed.
Huddle Up: Walker is coming off winning a Super Bowl and taking home Super Bowl MVP honors. He now lands with the Kansas City Chiefs for the foreseeable future. Seattle managed his usage during the regular season with Zach Charbonnet in 2025, but Walker's postseason performance was a reminder of what he can do when given the full share of the backfield. Walker will lead this new Chiefs' backfield and for fantasy purposes, it's a great landing spot. Consider Walker a high-end RB2 with RB1 potential for fantasy football in 2026.

Seattle Seahawks impending free agent RB Kenneth Walker III's market value, which is reportedly in excess of $13 million annually, is out of the price range of the Seahawks, in the opinion of Tony Pauline of EssentiallySports.com on Thursday, March 5.
Huddle Up: Walker is coming off winning Super Bowl MVP, and with Zach Charbonnet recovering from a torn ACL, it would make sense for the Seahawks to retain Walker's services for 2026 and beyond. Seattle managed his usage during the regular season with Charbonnet, but Walker's postseason performance was a reminder of what he can do when given the full share of the backfield. Wherever Walker ends up in 2026, he'll be a high-end RB2 with RB1 potential for fantasy football.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III will not have the franchise or transition tag placed on him by the team, according to ESPN's Peter Schrager.

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider was asked about re-signing RB Kenneth Walker III and answered, "Obviously, we'd love" to bring him back.
Huddle Up: Walker is likely to earn a bigger payday on account of his winning Super Bowl MVP, and the draft class is thinner at the position. No matter where Walker ends up in 2026, he is likely to come into the season as someone with RB1 potential.

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent Kenneth Walker III is unlikely to receive the franchise tag this offseason. The team has multiple free agents they'd like to retain, and Super Bowl tax costs have pushed the franchise tag out of range.
Huddle Up: K-9 could still return, but there's a chance another team throws a large sum at him. He was just the RB22 in PPR leagues despite playing in 17 games, and Zach Charbonnet was the RB25 in one fewer game. Charbonnet is recovering from a torn ACL, but the team could surmise the two backs are the same and let Walker go. If he stays in Seattle, he'll be a good RB2 with an expected workload boost with Charbonnet on the mend. However, he'd be an RB1 with a larger workload elsewhere.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III could receive the franchise tag or the transition tag, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Huddle Up: Coming off Super Bowl MVP honors and with Zach Charbonnet recovering form a torn ACL, it would make sense for the Seahawks to retain Walker. Seattle managed his usage during the regular season, but his performance during the playoffs was a reminder of what he can do when given the reins of the backfield. If Walker is back with the Seahawks in 2026, he should be a quality RB2 option.
